I am a Consultant Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at the American University of Beirut (AUB) I have extensive experience in Adult and Substance Misuse Psychiatry. In my current position I combine clinical, managerial and academic roles at a senior level. My research interests include themes in Conflict Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine and General Psychiatry with emphasis on psychotic disorders. In addition to my qualifications I hold a Masters in War and Psychiatry from King’s College London and a Post Graduate Certificate in Evidence Based Psychological Therapies from the University of Reading. I have been involved in the Development of the Mental and Behavioural Disorders chapter, Eleventh Revision of the International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-11), World Health Organization. I am a founding member of the Psychosis Recover Outreach Program.
Since 2010, I have acted as an expert witness and attended court in relation to criminal, employment, immigration and family court proceedings. I have extensive experience in Adult and Substance Misuse Psychiatry, Psychosis and Military Psychiatry.
