Professor Walter Busuttil has not only published extensively but has lectured nationally and internationally about treatment and rehabilitation of military personnel, veterans, military families and survivors of traumatic stress suffering from chronic and complex presentations of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Professor Busuttil served for 16 years in the RAF qualifying as a military psychiatrist. He was part of the team that set up rehabilitation services for Gulf War combatants and the British Beirut hostages.

He was appointed as Director of Medical Services at Combat Stress in 2007 and led the setting up of UK-wide cutting-edge community and residential clinical services and a research department.

In August 2020, he became Director of Research and Training. Earlier this year, Professor Busuttil was appointed visiting Professor to the Institute of Psychiatry and Psychology and Neuroscience at Kings College London
