Biography

Dr Rao is a General Adult Psychiatrist with special interest in addictions and dual diagnosis. He has wide experience of medico legal work with a range of psychiatric problems such as Schizophrenia, mood disorders and anxiety disorders. More recently, he has been specialising in the assessment of parents with mental health problems in the context of childcare proceedings. He has researched into and published on mental health aspects of cannabis use. He also has a keen interest in medical education and has many publications in this area.

Dr Rao currently works as a Consultant Psychiatrist with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Clinical Director for Lewisham adult mental health services.
