Dr Suleman

Dr Sajid Suleman is a consultant psychiatrist and honorary senior clinical lecturer, currently working as a consultant psychiatrist at Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Cygnet Hospital Blackheath London. He has 10 years’ experience of working as a consultant psychiatrist at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and over 18 years’ experience of working in psychiatry. He also has eight years’ experience of working as a consultant at Lewisham Adult Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic.

He completed most of his psychiatric training at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust under Guys, Kings & St Thomas/South Thames Training Scheme. He has wide experience of medico-legal work in both criminal and civil proceedings. He has experience of working in Forensic Psychiatry. He is a Fellow of The Royal College of Psychiatrists. He has also completed an MSc in Psychiatric Research from Kings College London.

His special interest is in Adult Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Asperger Syndrome and has worked at National Behavioural Genetics Clinic at Maudsley Hospital London.


Dr Bhatnagar

Dr Bhatnagar is a qualified medical practitioner, fully registered with the General Medical Council and his name is included on the Specialist Register since 2008. He has a licence to practice. Dr Bhatnagar is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has been a consultant psychiatrist for 12 years. He is approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act (MHA; 1983, as amended 2007), as having special experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorder. He is in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, undertaking Continuing Professional Development. Dr Bhatnagar is appraised annually and has undergone successful revalidation by the GMC.

In August 2020 Dr Bhatnagar was appointed to the position of Greenwich Clinical Director and subsequently in October 2021 to the position of Clinical Director for the Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust acute and crisis service line, covering all the acute general adult and older adults’ wards, home treatment teams and Liaison teams within Greenwich, Bromley and Bexley Boroughs. He resigned from this Clinical Director role on the 30th of June 2024. He was appointed as the Head of Medical Profession within the Directorate from the 1st of July 2024. Within the NHS, his clinical role as a consultant psychiatrist includes supporting the Health Based Place of Safety which provides input to the patients brought in by the police under S135 and S136 for assessment. He also works as a consultant psychiatrist in Oxleas NHS F Trust in the Adult ADHD service. He is also the Medical Director and Consultant Psychiatrist in Cygnet Blackheath and Cygnet Lewisham Lodge which are private hospitals supporting NHS patients. In Cygnet Blackheath he is the consultant on Meridian ward, which is a low secure rehab unit and Lewisham Lodge is a locked rehab unit. As part of his role, he assesses and manage many mentally disordered offenders and has close liaison with the forensic services.
