Biography
Dr Utpaul Bose is a consultant forensic psychiatrist at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and has been in that substantive post for the last 15 years. He has wide experience of medico-legal work in both criminal and civil proceedings. He has also worked for 10 years as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist of inpatient wards in both low secure and rehabilitation as part of the Cygnet Healthcare Group. He has regularly attended court to give evidence orally as part of these, including the Central Criminal Court and Coroners Court. Dr Bose is one of the only Consultant Forensic Psychiatrists in the UK who has a specialist interest in Adult ADHD. This has been increasingly recognised as a contributory factor to offending and has been accepted by the courts as a mitigating factor.
